Solarlux Akzent Plus Wintergarden, Wokingham

This lovely couple love to eat ‘al fresco’ in the Summer months and missed being able to do so in the cold Winter months. They decided they wanted a covered area to sit under at the rear of their house in Wokingham. They wanted easy access from the house and have the option of closing in the sides, rather than having a canopy-style cover. They wanted a permanent structure with lots of glass, but not a Conservatory.

Our client discussed their ideas with our Designer and an Akzent Plus Wintergarden from Solarlux was chosen. The patio doors at the rear of the house were removed and replaced with Solarlux SL 60e bi-folding doors. The back of the house can now be fully opened however, because the bi-fold doors have been installed and no structural works were required, building regulations are not needed. Bi-fold doors were also installed on all three sides of the glass structure.

This Wintergarden in Wokingham features a novel design, with the addition of a solid wall which houses a gas log-effect fire and full height chimney breast. This centre piece is completed with cedar cladding externally which looks fantastic.

The flooring is flush throughout. The same flagstone tiles have been used to extend the floor space beyond the Wintergarden to create a patio area. When the bi-fold doors are fully open, there is an uninterrupted flow from the inside to the outside.

Our client is delighted with their Wintergarden! They can now enjoy their garden and fresh air whatever the weather.
