Location: Newbury
The original property on this site in Newbury has been completely renovated and re-modelled. The original roof was removed and replaced with new slate tiles. The window and door openings have been re-worked to create larger glazed areas and all elevations have been rendered to completely reinvent this house in to an imposing, contemporary home with major wow-factor!
The HF310 timber/aluminium tilt and turn windows from Internorm are tripe glazed as standard and are finished with a white painted interior and anthracite grey outside. These windows have superb thermal and acoustic benefits, achieving u-values as low as 0.69 W/m²K, making them suitable for passive house projects, and a superb sound insulation of 35dB.
Integrated blinds were chosen for the bathrooms and en-suite. These are solar powered with a battery for backup. They can be controlled manually or by remote control. Access to the blinds is quick and easy, should any maintenance be required.
We also installed three sets of Internorm HS330 timber/aluminium lift and slide doors in the sitting room, breakfast area and family room. All three door sets have been finished internally with beautiful tiled floors running in to a flush threshold for a step-free barrier and to create a minimal frameless look. These doors are also triple glazed, with 48mm thick glazing. Each sash can carry a maximum weight of up to 400kg and can require specialist lifting equipment to get them on site and in to place, but these particular doors were more manageable at approximately 150kg. Each door set was approximately 3000 x 2150. Despite their weight, the doors glide effortlessly due to the quality rollers and the lift/slide operation. The doors can be locked at any point along the track, ideal for when children or pets are running in and out.
A fantastic property.
