Location: Oakely Green, Windsor
The homeowners of this beautiful property in Oakley Green, Berkshire, were looking to increase the thermal efficiency of their home by upgrading their windows with a secondary glaze, rather than double glazing in Oakley Green. Our clients loved the way that their single glazing looked, and didn’t want impact the appeal of the property by changing the timber. The original timber framed windows were a very good addition to the property, helping to give it character.
During a visit to the Thames Valley Windows showroom, the clients were shown some of the products in our Residence 9 collection of uPVC double glazing timber alternative windows. Almost immediately, the homeowners were blown away with the appearance of these double glazing windows, and decided that it was the right choice for their whole property. The same colour was chosen for both the internal side of the frames and the external side, Cotswold Biscuit.
A made-to-order factory finished hardwood cill was created to ensure that the same colour and depth, 45mm, was achieved to replicate the original windows.
The client was incredibly happy with the overall appearance of their new uPVC double glazing in Oakley Green. The modern flush casements are free of maintenance and a lot more efficient on energy use, despite looking almost identical to the timber frames used previously.
Not only does this Oakley Green property still have it’s wonderful character, but the new double glazing has given it longevity.
