A combination of Solarlux SL60e bi-folding doors in Oxford and SL60e fixed and shaped frames have been used to complete a striking gable roofed extension on a 1960s chalet style house.
The client wanted to enhance their living space with the addition of a single storey extension. As well as adding more space to their property, the extension would allow them to create a modern, yet functional open plan layout.
Having visited the Solarlux showroom in Welwyn Garden City, the couple had no doubt that the contemporary SL60e bi-folding doors and dramatic gable frame would bring that all important ‘wow factor’ to their home. The sleek grey aluminium and extensive glazing has brought a modern edge to the property, whilst the reinforced aluminium profile meant that the client didn’t need to compromise their design by having to use an RSJ between the doors and gable frame.
With their barrier-free flush floor track, the bi-folding doors seamlessly integrate with the newly created split level patio area and garden, which wraps around the new extension. The fixed and shaped window frames add to the imposing style and allow even more natural light into the space. Additional roof lights in the mono pitch roof, a statement kitchen and gloss floor tiles add to the sense of space and light in the extension.
