Our client had recently renovated their 1970s single storey property and sought a contemporary styled front door to make a striking entrance to their home. As well as providing good looks, the door also needed to be durable and secure.
Impressed with its sleek flush glazing, the client finally chose the stylish Modo composite door in a modern Anthracite grey woodgrain finish. Unlike other contemporary style composite doors which have a raised glazing bead, the door features an aluminium trim that sits flush with the face of the door. For a consistently modern look, the inside of the door also features a matching aluminium trim, which is removable to allow the glass to be changed if required.
The Modo incorporates some of the strongest materials, including steel, GRP and high density polyurethane, plus a double rebate, so it is both tough and secure. The 70mm thick door sash is thicker than standard 44mm doors, making it stronger and more thermally efficient. Triple glazing and the draught excluding double rebate add to the energy efficiency of the door.
The client’s specification included a glazed side panel to maximise daylight, an 1800mm stainless steel bar handle and a matching factory-finished door cill. The security features of the door include an innovative slam shut multipoint lock which does not require a handle to operate the locking system and an anti-bump, anti-drill and anti-pick cylinder as standard.
