Location: Henley-on-Thames
A major two storey renovation enabled this client to transform their period property into a beautiful family home, filled with light and space.
With a growing family, the client was keen to create an individually designed home to provide more living space downstairs and more bedrooms upstairs. On the ground floor, their ambitious project involved moving the kitchen to the rear of the property and adding a spacious extension which featured as much glazing as possible to bring light into the property. An extension on each wing and a loft conversion created the extra bedroom space they required upstairs.
Thames Valley Windows worked closely with the client’s architect to specify a range of contemporary products that would deliver both on aesthetics and performance.
A Solarlux Wintergarden extension in sleek grey aluminium makes a stunning focal point downstairs. This fully glazed extension incorporates an Akzent Plus Roof with Active Glazing and Solarlux SL60e Bi-Folding doors with fixed frames. The roof incorporates a clever double rafter design at each end to connect with the adjoining house. A flush floor track was installed with the bi-folding doors to create a level, barrier-free opening onto the new patio area.
Internorm triple glazed HF310 Home Pure composite windows were also installed throughout the property. For continuity, the window frames were all finished in RAL7016 anthracite grey on the outside to match the Wintergarden extension. The windows were finished in white timber on the inside.
