A traditional Georgian-style conservatory has made way for a contemporary Solarlux Wintergarden extension at this property in Binfield.
The client was keen to bring a modern twist to their red brick semi-detached home and increase their living space by extending across the entire width of the property. With a keen eye for modern design, our customer discussed their needs with the team at Thames Valley windows. They finally chose a stylish Solarlux Wintergarden in sleek grey aluminium to help to fill their home with light and space.
The new floorplan cleverly utilises the previously dead space to the side of the old conservatory to maximise the size of the new extension. This new design allowed the client to add a spacious dining area where they can sit and enjoy the views of their garden.
The Wintergarden flows from the kitchen and incorporates high walls to accentuate the dramatic roof glazing. The glass roof bathes the rear of the property with light, helping the room to connect with the outdoors.
The new extension incorporates Solarlux SL45 fixed frames and lightweight SL45 bi-folding doors which provide unobstructed access to the garden beyond. These non-thermally broken doors provide adequate insulation as the customer left the original internal doors between the house and the new extension in place.
The project has added to the desirability and value of the property and the client is delighted with the result. They said: “We love our new Wintergarden and can’t wait for the spring so we can open the doors fully. If you have any prospective customers who want to see how a small house can have such a big improvement, then please use us as an example.
