Modernising a Marlow property with a slate grey composite front door.
The Marlow homeowners were looking to enhance the entrance to their beautiful detached home. We designed, supplied, and installed a slate grey composite front door with a side panel from our Apeer contemporary front doors range.
Being existing customers of Thames Valley Windows for many years, the homeowners advised: ‘We have used you several times before for replacement windows, doors, including French Doors and the cladding you can see above the front door. No, it has nothing to do with your Christmas cards! Seriously, the workmanship and prices have always been good, so it seemed right to check out your doors .. and yet again, we were pleased with what we saw.’
Our Marlow customers contacted us via our website for a free no-obligation quotation. Our designer Joe contacted them to discuss their requirements and emailed both our English Door and Apeer composite door brochures and arranged an appointment,
We display a range of traditional and modern front doors from uPVC, composite, aluminium to timber doors at our Bracknell showroom. At the showroom appointment, our Marlow homeowners had the opportunity to discuss the different door options from the material, colour, security features to the glass designs with Joe. They were able to open and close the entrance doors and appreciate every door’s high quality and benefits.
The homeowners were keen to replace their wooden double doors with a low maintenance contemporary front door with glass panels to allow more natural daylight into the property.
After considering several different front door styles for their home entrance, they decided that the high performing and stylish Compton style Apeer composite door with a glass side panel ticked all the boxes for style, low maintenance, and security features.
The Apeer front door is bespoke and made to their exact requirements; it is finished in a subtle colour of slate grey on the exterior and white on the interior, with a toughened anti-tamper triple glazed panel.
A large glass side panel complements the slate grey composite front door. The opal glazing provides privacy whilst providing a light and bright hallway. The only door hardware they chose was a GU Lock of a silver escutcheon finger pull, which are ergonomically designed for ease of closing operation on exit.
Grey composite doors are fast becoming the most popular choice of Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey properties. Slate grey is a slightly lighter shade than Anthracite grey, but both door colours add elegance to modern and traditional properties.
These Apeer 70 exterior doors are secure, durable and energy-efficient and one of the only composite front doors on the market to be A-rated
They are defined by their deep insulating 70mm double rebate, and high-density polyurethane foam core and reinforcing GRP inner sash; all these features achieve outstanding thermal efficiency levels.
Designed with police approved features from the large steel hinge bolts that ensure maximum security at the weakest point to the anti-pick, anti-bump, anti-drill, and anti-snap kitemarked cylinder lock barrels that are fitted as standard to protect your property from intruders.
The Marlow homeowners are delighted with their new front door and advised: ‘We are over the moon, with double wooden doors our hall was always quite dark, and now it’s light, bright and like a proper hallway. We wonder why we didn’t do it before!! And we just love the fact that there are no more gaps and cracks to let in cold and drafts!!’
The finished result is breath-taking; the slate grey composite front door enhances the overall façade of this Marlow property and increases kerb appeal.
