This stunning new build in Leatherhead features a selection of our high performing triple glazed windows and doors. All are finished in RAL7016 anthracite grey inside and outside throughout the property.
We designed and installed a bespoke architectural glazing solution of Solarlux SL6Oe bi-folding doors, air MOD aluminium tilt and turn windows, a large fixed gable window and a luxurious Pirnar entrance door.
Located in a highly sought location in Leatherhead, this contemporary new build has been strategically designed and built to an exceptionally high standard with floor to ceiling triple glazed windows and bifold doors to take full advantage of the outstanding views of the Surrey Hills.
The Leatherhead homeowners contacted Thames Valley Windows after noticing that we had sponsored a golf day at Foxhill’s Country Club and Resort, Surrey.
When contacting us with their architect’s drawings and window and door schedule, planning had already been approved, the footings were in, and the main build was due to start in four weeks.
Part of the homeowner’s brief was they wanted contemporary minimal framed aluminium windows and doors finished in RAL7016 anthracite grey to complement the white colour render, timber cladding and dark slate roof.
Our designer Rob worked closely with the homeowners and their architects and builders to provide his expertise and innovative glazing knowledge. He ensured all the triple glazed windows and doors were designed, supplied and installed within the builder’s schedule.
Rob arranged for the clients to visit our Bracknell Showroom, view the range of aluminium windows and doors we have on display, and talk through the various options suitable for a low-maintenance new build property with the focus on traditional materials and energy efficiency.
Based on the contemporary aesthetic of the property, our designer Rob suggested installing Solarlux fixed frames for the large shaped gable window above the bifold in the master bedroom rather than using steel as indicated by their structural engineer.
Solarlux provides a reinforcing profile between the gable window and bi-folds which is hidden behind the façade. The steels form a triangle into the gable itself, avoiding the sightlines being interrupted in the glazed elements allowing for a minimalist finish.
Three different manufacturers have been used within the design to ensure the highest quality products have been used. All are made from aluminium, and all have a powder coat finish in the same RAL 7016.
RAL 7016 colour Anthracite grey is one of the most popular shades of grey for both interior designers and architects. It blends well with many external materials from natural stone to red brickwork and accentuates any interior décor colour scheme.
The air MOD window frames offer high insulation. They are manufactured with an innovative chambered polyamide break technology which creates a barrier between cold air from the outside of the property to warm air inside, offering outstanding thermal efficiency. They also provide enhanced security and come with a PAS24 certification.
Minimalist and contemporary, the air MOD tilt and turn windows are the most versatile windows in our range. The tilt function provides ventilation without compromising security. They offer an easy cleaning option as the windows can open inwards, so the exterior glass is cleaned without leaning out.
Throughout this contemporary new build, the glazing is a significant feature of the overall design and energy efficiency. The 44mm triple glazed units enhance the overall U Value.
The end result is stunning! Large floor to ceiling windows and doors provide an abundance of natural light within the interior, creating and enhancing the living spaces’ ambience.
The RAL 7016 Anthracite grey aluminium bifold doors and tilt and turn windows effortlessly blend traditional and modern interior aesthetics.
Upon entry, family and friends are greeted with a stunning reception room and dramatic high ceiling creating a warm, inviting family home.
The Leatherhead homeowners are delighted with their RAL7016 triple glazed aluminium windows and doors and advised of the following:
During the Architectural design process of my New Build dream home, I preferred modern features of a classic contemporary style.
The building design had to provide for some custom windows and roof lights to embrace and compliment the large roofline style.
The selection process was made to provide minimalist modern window frames and bespoke design capability to the project.
Quality is a “must” factor, along with the need to deliver to a reasonable budget.
TVW, on the initial enquiry, impressed as the Sales Design executive I spoke with first (Robb Legge), wasn’t pushy but helpful and informative and suggested a showroom visit to get better acquainted with the design options available.
TVW range was impressive and included high-quality windows, Bifolds doors and bespoke design. The quotation met with my budget expectations as well as being competitive.
Once the main building structure was finished, TVW sent their surveyor to measure all the openings and ensure that the finished product fit correctly and was structurally suited for the aperture.
The install teams (Different for Windows and Bifold Doors) were also impressed. I had one call back on the Bifold door seals, which was quickly addressed.
Overall, the finished product speaks for itself in the finished photos, and you can clearly see the impact and beauty they bring to the house design.
Would I recommend TVW? Well, certainly YES, especially with the guiding hand and advice of the team I dealt with on my new build.
Thank you, Thames Valley Windows, for your contribution to my beautiful new build home.
