Metallic Grey Bifolds for Gable End Kitchen Extension, Aldershot

This stunning gable end kitchen extension we recently designed and installed metallic grey bifold doors has completely transformed this Aldershot detached property.

Situated on one of Aldershot’s premier roads, the family home needed restoration after being affected by a fire causing significant damage throughout the property.

Although a devastating loss, the renovation included replacing many windows and doors. The Aldershot homeowners also extended the property with a large rear open-plan kitchen extension for modern living.

Our architectural project designer Marcus contacted the homeowners to discuss the glazing options for their home renovation project.

The brief for this project was they wanted the new open plan gable end kitchen extension to feel connected to the outside and to introduce natural light into the living space with slim frame grey bi-folding doors and roof lanterns.

The homeowners were also unsure if they wanted to replace the affected windows with like-for-like white uPVC to match the existing ones or replace them all with grey to compliment the grey bi-folds.

After a design consultation and visit to our Bracknell showroom, Marcus showed the range of bi-fold doors and uPVC windows we have on display and discussed the most suitable and cost-effective glazing solution for their home renovation project.

Marcus took a personal and dedicated approach to design a glazing solution tailored to the Aldershot homeowners’ brief.

Once satisfied with the bespoke design proposal, the Aldershot homeowners decided to replace all the existing white uPVC windows with dual-colour Halo flush uPVC casement windows with even sightlines, finished in Agate grey grain on the exterior and smooth white on the inside.

For the glazed gable end kitchen extension, our clients decided on the floor-to-ceiling glazing with a five-panel minimally framed thermally broken aluminium Ecoline bi-folding door system with a traffic door, and a large shaped fixed gable window finished in the luxurious powder-coated metallic dark grey colour (WT029/80077) both inside and outside.

The homeowners advised that they had chosen matching floor tiles for the inside and outdoor patio. Marcus designed the Ecoline Bi-Folding Doors in Aldershot with a modern flush track system and a concealed drainage system, creating a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor living spaces.

The finished results of this home renovation project are stunning and have been finished to the highest standards with superb attention to detail.

The versatile tones of the double-glazed agate grey windows are an excellent contrast to the Ibstock multi-colour bricks.

The open-plan kitchen/living space is lit up by floor-to-ceiling glazing, allowing plenty of natural light into the interior that bounces off the bright white walls and kitchen cabinets and creates the illusion of a much larger space.
