the £588 increase is for the whole year.

We are delighted to announce that our Award-Winning Women’s Rehabilitation Centre Hope Street project in Southampton is a finalist for the ‘Commercial Project of the Year’ in the forthcoming G24 Awards.

Being a finalist for the G24 Commercial Project of the Year is a massive testament to the innovation and dedication of our fantastic team.

COMMERCIAL PROJECT OF THE YEAR

In close collaboration with the design architect and project team, Thames Valley Windows has crafted and delivered an innovative and sustainable architectural glazing solution for the Award-Winning Women’s Rehabilitation Centre, Hope Street, located in Southampton. This commercial project is a testament to our commitment to reducing carbon emissions and sustainability.

These were fundamental to the sustainability brief, ensuring the windows and doors met stringent thermal and energy efficiency and daylighting requirements.

This joint effort has contributed to numerous BREEAM credits across different categories and managed to stay within the budget, achieve the required aesthetics, and maintain thermal and acoustic performance.

The design of the highly insulated glazing solution is more than just a functional aspect of the project. It significantly enhances the building’s aesthetics, contributing to its overall look and feel and, thereby, the well-being of the occupants. The visual impact of our solution is undeniable.

Hope Street is rated BREEAM Outstanding for sustainability, with several design features improving the scheme’s sustainability. Our large triple-glazed windows and doors maximise natural light and promote transparency. At the same time, our design responds to its orientation and takes advantage of the environment, contributing to a greener future.

The choice of the Rational windows was strategic. These windows, with their large glass panes and ultra-slim frame, not only maximise indoor air quality and views but also flood the interior with natural light, creating a healthy and sustainable building. The triple glazing significantly improves the overall unit U-value, maintaining it below 0.9 U Values and between 0.3-0.38 g values, a testament to their energy efficiency.

The sustainability of the Rationel windows extends beyond their use phase. These windows are designed with their end-of-life phase in mind, ensuring they can be easily disassembled into individual components. 93% of the materials are recyclable. This commitment to circular economy principles ensures that our products have a minimal environmental impact, even after their useful life in the building.
In addition, we have designed a complete range of aluminium and composite windows and doors sourced only from our most trusted partners: Solarlux, Internorm, and Everglade.

Installing these products helped achieve an outstanding BREEAM rating for the Hope Street Building.

The café area and reception desk are not just functional spaces. They also serve as opportunities for local community engagement and employment, enhancing the building’s social sustainability and contributing to the environment.

We are a trusted, customer-focused independent double-glazing company that prioritises our customers’ needs and aims to deliver the best products and customer service possible.

We will await the announcement of the winners at the G24 awards ceremony in London on 29th November 2024.

Good luck to all of the finalists!
