One of our Architectural Glazing Projects won a 2023 AJ Retrofit Award.

We’re delighted to announce that our collaboration with CaSA Architects and Top Job Building to deliver a contemporary sustainable home in Wiltshire has been awarded the 2023 AJ Retrofit Award in the best sustainable home under £500k category.

Organised by The Architects’ Journal, The annual AJ Retrofit Awards celebrate the design, engineering and construction excellence for repurposing existing buildings.

The trend in refurbishing and reimagining existing buildings with energy-efficient retrofits will play a significant part in the construction industry’s future in reducing the carbon footprint.

The Bradford Road project was a collaborative effort of an ambitious partnership team between the architect, builder and glazing companies. The architects brought us onto the project to design a high-performance, sustainable glazing solution to reduce heat loss and take advantage of natural light.

Completed in 2022, this beautiful contemporary sustainable home is an energy-efficient, sustainable retrofit. What used to be a derelict 1930s Bungalow has been given a new lease of life and a long and sustainable future and is now an impressive example of a ‘deep green’ retrofit that follows Passivhaus design principles.

The judges recognise this retrofit project is a testament to the diligence and hard work of everyone involved.

They were impressed by the collaborative approach between the architect, builders, homeowners and glazing companies, who all engaged proactively and positively by choosing retrofit over demolition and rebuild and with the environmental design of the property.

Our approach to the energy-efficient glazing solution we designed and installed centred around the homeowner brief for sustainability and light.
