Thames Valley Windows were delighted to sponsor the Reading Rotary Club 2024 Santa Run and thrilled to hear that the event raised just over £5,000 for local charities.
The annual Christmas event, a true testament to our community’s spirit, was held on Reading University’s grounds. Hundreds of runners and walkers, including many from our local community, dressed as Santa Claus. The festive music from The Rock Choir added to the joyous atmosphere, spreading festive fun.
Reading University’s pro-vice Chancellor for Education, Elizabeth McCrum started both the 2k and the timed 5k runs, and the Mayor of Reading, Councillor Glenn Dennis, was there to hand out the awards at the finish line.
The charities chosen for 2024 were Rainbow Trust, which supports families with children aged 0 – 18 with a life-threatening or terminal illness, and Thrive, whose vision is to enable those touched by a disability to transform their lives using gardening. Both received a generous £1500 donation. The remainder will help various other local charities.
