Last Thursday, a team of volunteers from Thames Valley Windows embarked on their volunteering mission at one of Sebastian Action Trust centres, The Woodlands in Crowthorne.
On arrival, our day of gardening that was planned it had been changed to creating a Santa’s Grotto in the Sebastian Tree House.
The team worked in two groups, embracing their inner DIY enthusiasts; the teams set to work revitalising the Sebastian tree house into a cosy Santa Grotto in Lapland, aiming to create a winter wonderland so that every child would feel the magic of Christmas.
Out came the twinkling fairy lights, flashing stars, Christmas trees, glittery tinsel, Santa’s elves, reindeer, baubles, and bunting, which was placed all over the place for some magical sparkle!
After a productive day, the therapeutic benefits of a volunteer day are clear from the images that we helped create a magical atmosphere.
Sebastian’s Action Trust is a beacon of hope for seriously ill children and their families, providing them invaluable support and respite during challenging times.
Corporate groups spending the day volunteering at their sites make such a difference – saving them both time and money that they can then use to help with everything from organising activities and providing outreach support to transporting families to hospital appointments or putting together hospital bags in times of emergency.
Thank you so much to all of your team for yesterday. It looks truly wonderful, and lots of the staff came and had a look yesterday and said how amazing it looks. Thank you for your help. Please pass on our thanks to the rest of the team. They were an absolute credit to you as a company.
