Location: Winnersh
We recently installed two sets of jet-black art deco French doors into a Retro Kitchen Renovation in Winnersh, Wokingham, Berkshire.
Nestled in a highly tranquil and sought-after Winnersh location is this charming, period detached family home
The Winnersh homeowners had been planning a kitchen renovation for a few years. They needed more than a simple replacement of white uPVC French doors and a window to their kitchen. They wanted to replace the French doors and kitchen window with two black steel-look aluminium doors from the Art Deco era.
Our designer, Joe, contacted the homeowners to discuss their kitchen renovation. He recommended they book a showroom appointment to view our range of Heritage French doors.
At the appointment, Joe explained to the Winnersh homeowners the differences between each door range and discussed each style’s colour and finish options. This process helped them choose the best high-security Art Deco French doors that allow plenty of natural light to flow into their retro kitchen renovation.
Joe listened carefully to the client’s requirements and needs during the appointment. He recommended our Heritage 47 French doors, which feature clean, simple, and modern lines, as the ideal glazing solution to capture the art deco style for their retro kitchen renovation.
The Winnersh homeowners selected the Heritage French doors, finished in Jet Black RAL9005, for their ultra-slim sightlines, mid-rails, and industrial style.
The Heritage 47 external door system is minimalistic and iconic, designed for thermal efficiency and inspired by traditional steel-framed French doors from the 1800s. It has been meticulously crafted to closely replicate the proportions and details that stay true to the original design of steel door frames.
All double-glazed units are toughened, A+ rated, argon gas-filled, and have a Low-E coating with a warm edge spacer bar. They are suitable for year-round use. This ensures the kitchen remains warm in winter and cool in summer.
The Heritage doors’ aluminium frames have a Polyamide thermal break to provide high insulation levels. At the same time, the extra clear glass panels offer maximum transparency and light, and the multi-point locking system provides outstanding door security.
The Heritage 47 system exudes sophistication and craftsmanship. It is a cost-effective alternative to steel windows and doors, with the added benefits of energy efficiency, security, and steel-inspired aesthetics for period properties, listed buildings, and conservation areas.
These art deco French doors are crafted from premium-grade aluminium and manufactured with impeccable craftsmanship, scrupulous attention to detail, and meticulous finishing to perfection.
They showcase the quality and care that Everglade is renowned for.
Designed to replicate Art Deco-style steel doors, it is the perfect choice to offer a traditional steel look whilst delivering all the added benefits of thermally broken aluminium performance,
Black art deco French doors have become a highly sought-after trend among homeowners, architects, and developers for traditional and modern homes.
They offer a modern 21st-century alternative to traditional steel French doors, offering the iconic Art Deco-inspired aesthetic while utilising advanced thermally broken aluminium profiles.
This aluminium door system achieves a U-value of 1.5 W/m²K, making these doors stylish and a responsible and eco-friendly choice for any home.
Combined with contemporary weather and thermal performance, with wind resistance of 2400 pa and water tightness of up to 600 pa, these Aluminium Heritage French doors offer exceptional energy efficiency and insulation to keep properties warm and lower energy bills.
We collaborated closely with our client from design to installation, ensuring that every detail was perfect. This included removing the brick wall beneath the kitchen window before installing the bespoke black Art Deco French doors. Our installers used matching brickwork to achieve a seamless finish.

The homeowners are delighted with their Art Deco French doors and advised of the following:
The look of the door was the primary factor, which, once combined with their quality, made it a very easy decision to make.
The doors are great. They have opened up the space in the kitchen and let in a lot more light. With their vintage feel, they complement the period of the house, and we wish we could have had the whole house done at the same time. One day!
A colleague initially recommended TVW many years ago but never went through with that project. When renovating our kitchen, we revisited TVW and other suppliers for the work needed. Throughout all of this, the service was excellent, and the quality of the doors that were offered looked much better than other companies. It was also great to see the doors we chose in situ in the showroom to be sure they were what we wanted.
It has been great from beginning to end. Very easy to deal with, responsive to queries and everyone from showroom to site were very friendly and knew their stuff.
