Evolution Storm 2 Timber Alternative Windows, French Doors and Back Door, Hurst

Location: Hurst

This beautiful, 19th century property in Hurst has undergone quite a dramatic change, as you’ll see from the photos in our gallery above. The original timber windows were fitted in the 1980s.

The property owners came to see us in our showroom in Bracknell to discuss replacing the windows. They had started to let in water and weren’t performing their best. We sent one of our Surveyors to the property. The windows had been poorly fitted and were very thin. This design is no longer used these days.

Initially, our client was considering timber windows. They were keen to do the best for the property and thought that uPVC would not be good enough. However, we introduced them to the timber alternative range from Evolution. These uPVC windows are made to look like timber. So closely in fact, that they can be used in conservation areas. They feature a mechanical joint which mimics that of a real timber window, and not a welded joint, common in standard uPVC windows.

Unable to visualise what their home would look like if they strayed away from the original black colour of the window frames, we produced 3D architectural drawings showing a range of window designs and frame colours. Storm windows were chosen in white, with white Georgian bars and no fan lights. This window design is in keeping with the age and style of the property.

This property has been given a new lease of life. It’s warmer, more secure and no more leaks! These windows are virtually maintenance free and will stay looking this good for many years to come.

What a stunning home!
