Evolution Flush Timber Alternative Windows have helped to preserve the beauty and character of this 19th-century cottage in Thursley near Guildford.
The owners of Lilac Cottage wanted to replace the original timber windows at the front of their property with high performance, maintenance-free windows. It was important to them that the new replacements would blend with their home.
Our designer worked closely with our client and discussed the options that would offer high security and good sound and noise insulation whilst also being sympathetic to the period cottage. A classic flush casement window was suggested to suit the age and style of the property. Our client opted for the Evolution Flush Timber Alternative Window which brings all the character of a natural wood window, but without any of the maintenance.
The grained wood finish timber alternative windows were finished in a soft agate grey on the outside and white on the inside. To add to the authentic look, our client chose rectangle leadwork and traditional monkey tail handles. The new 45mm Evolution cills look just like timber too.
The property is now warmer, quieter and more secure. The rich wood finish of the windows looks so authentic that their neighbours in the Thursley area were convinced they were made of timber. The owners are delighted with their new timber alternative windows and have now decided to invest in replacing the windows on the rear of their home.
