We recently installed flush casement windows, from the Evolution Flush 70 Timber Alternative Window range into a semi-detached house in Hedgerley, a lovely small country village near Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire where the fields and woods of the parish featured in the episode “Secrets & Spies” of Midsomer Murders.
Our clients had recently moved into this house, having had no work done to it for a long time it was in a poor state unloved and in need of a full renovation inside and out. High on the priority list for home improvements was new replacement windows throughout the house to replace the existing crittall style steel windows.
After receiving an online quote from our design team, our clients decided to make an appointment to visit our Bracknell showroom to meet with Joe, one of our designers who specialise in renovations and had been assigned to this project. At the appointment, Joe discussed both the double glazing and colour options he thought their home could benefit from. After looking at all the different window styles, our clients settled on Evolution timber alternative flush casement windows they felt confident they had made the right decision and were ready to place an order. The Flush timber alternative windows with their white wood effect foil finish, allowed them to meet their criteria and aesthetically provided the look and feel of natural wooden windows. We were also able to match their requirement for a set of outward opening French windows.
To help our clients visualise how the new fitted flush casement window offering and doors would look in their home we produced 3D visualisation drawings to allow them to see how their home would look like with Evolution Flush 70 timber alternative windows and doors.
The surveyor was prompt for his appointment and found a couple of issues relating to the french window design with building regulations but they were resolved quickly and effortlessly. Shortly after the order was placed with the manufacturer the date for the installation, was confirmed with our clients.
All the Evolution products that our clients chose were installed by our team over three days. The Flush casement windows with visible timber joints are extremely pleasing to the eye, charming and elegant. The Georgian style bars running horizontally across the windows add a little Victorian character giving the authentic feel of a traditional window. When closed, the flush casement windows sit flush with the outer frame. The window joints and 45mm deep window sills also perfectly replicate that of a timber window.
However, at the rear of the property, the clients chose windows that did not have the Georgian style bar running horizontally to enjoy the uninterrupted views of their back garden, that looks out over the beautiful farmland and beyond.
When we returned to the property this month to take photographs, work is still continuing on this renovation project. Although now our clients have had the chance to live with the new double glazed flush casement windows and rear door, they have noticed the positive change to heat retention, energy ratings and soundproofing.
The gallery above shows the before photo of the property, as well as the final installation. What a beautiful transformation, we look forward to returning when the renovations are completed.
