Frameless Sliding Doors for Modern New Build Home, Farnham

Three sets of frameless sliding doors were a key design element for this stunning modern new build home in Farnham, Surrey.

The large plot of land was previously home to a chalet-style bungalow on a highly desirable and convenient road within walking distance of the Georgian town of Farnham.

The homeowners instantly fell in love with the area and decided this would be where they wanted to build their forever home.

They appointed a local architect and builder to help with drawings and planning applications to demolish the existing bungalow and replace it with an energy-efficient modern new build home suitable for 21st living.

Eight Buildings a leading property development company that specialises in building high-end residential properties are one of our established contractors who work with our architectural project designer Liam Griffin, they recommended Thames Valley Windows to the Farnham homeowners.

Aside from being recommended by the builder who has used us on several other projects, we were chosen by the homeowners for the quality of our innovative frameless sliding doors, uPVC windows and aluminium entrance door.

Part of the Farnham homeowner’s brief to the architect for the glazing & external doors was to design a modern new build that was flooded with light, well insulated, low maintenance, and wow factor.

For the rear garden room and master bedroom Liam recommended our Vision20 frameless sliding doors. The sliding door system can offer floor to ceiling glazing and a virtually frameless profile with one of the features that allow the outer frame to be recessed into the wall cavity, offering a minimalist and contemporary design.

With the advancement in glass technology and manufacturing, these highly engineered door panels offer maximum sizes of up to 2.5m in width and 3m in height. Easy to operate and designed with a quiet and effortless sliding technology, they are especially suited for wide apertures.

The Farnham property is located on a residential road that comprises a mix of substantial and individual houses. This stunning white rendered modern new build with grey windows and doors embraces minimalism and blends well with the surroundings.

The frameless sliding doors provide the ultimate epitome of style. The minimal frames complement the interior and exterior décor. When closed, they allow the homeowners to enjoy the stunning uninterrupted views of the garden and, when open, invite the outside in.

The garden room has two sets of frameless sliding glass doors with a structural corner post and a flush threshold that blurs the line between inside and outside.

All the large double-glazed units in the frameless sliding doors are toughened, argon gas-filled, warm edge spacer bar and Low-E coating to offer outstanding thermal insulation, creating a thermally efficient and sustainable property.

The aluminium frames of the glazed doors are thermally broken to provide high levels of insulation that help to reduce energy bills, whilst the extra clear glass units provide maximum transparency and light.

The modern new build has been finished to the very highest standards. The interior benefits from elegant and contemporary neutral tones and an abundance of natural light from the narrow-framed doors and windows.

One of the significant challenges that this luxury modern new build project faced was the disruption to the build caused by the long delay in the window and door installation due to the global shortages of materials that delayed the production and delivery of the products.
