Location: Lower Kingswood
A traditional 1920s detached property was given a dramatic facelift with contemporary composite windows and doors in a striking black colour.
The client was keen to replace their tired windows with a more modern, thermally efficient solution, which would complement the traditional style of their home. However because the property is in close proximity to the M25 motorway, it was essential that the windows would deliver superior acoustic performance.
The client selected high performance Internorm KF410 contemporary composite windows in Lower Kingswood, which are finished in modern black aluminium on the outside and white PVCu on the inside. As well as providing unbeatable sound insulation, the windows are low maintenance and practical too with tilt and turn options that make cleaning them inside and out easy.
The proportions of the windows were carefully designed to harmonise with the style of the existing property. Detailing included a flying mullion to the three pane windows to create a slim sightline so the client could enjoy far reaching countryside views. Matching rear French doors were also fitted to add to the sense of light and allow easy access to the rear garden.
