Location: Oxfordshire
The new owners of this impressive family home in Oxfordshire were looking for triple glazed windows. Their exposed rural position meant that it could get very windy. Even with the original single glazed, timber sash windows closed, the curtains would move from the drafts!
Our client chose Internorm because they were looking for a contemporary style that wouldn’t ruin the character of the property. They had looked at various designs but liked the fact that the frames from the Home Soft range are gently rounded. This gives the windows a much softer look. Keeping them clean is also simple as the cloth simply glides along the glazing bars and they instantly come up sparkling.
The tilt & turn option was an ideal replacement for the existing timber sliding sash. The hinging catered for the larger opening sizes required to replace the windows without divisions in the frame. The simple Georgian border completes the look, combining the traditional features of the property with the modern window replacement.
Large sliding doors in the living area make the most of the views of the garden. They opted for the KS 430 uPVC/aluminium lift and slide doors which, despite the large glazed area, have an impressive ultra -low u-value of 0.64 W/m²K.
You can see the before and after photos in our gallery above. The new windows look fantastic and really help to give this lovely home the wow factor.
