We recently fitted a large front door by Pirnar into this luxury house in Wargrave, a picturesque historic village in Reading, Berkshire.
This beautiful white house is situated on the edge of the tranquil countryside with stunning panoramic views, the homeowners had been living in the house for a few years, and with a growing family were looking to extend the property and make it more modern and secure.

This elegant traditional house in Wargrave has recently been extended with a new modern extension to the rear of the property with innovative slimline sliding doors from Thames Valley Windows creating the perfect transitional style home.
Working and coordinating with both the builder and our customer, Thames Valley windows created a bespoke architectural glazing solution which they applied to both the external doors of this family home.
Part of this project involved designing a new aluminium front door for the homeowners; they wanted to replace an existing a standard entrance door with a glass side panel with a bespoke large front door and top light. This would give a welcoming entrance to their property with a stylish modern edge and compliment the home beautifully.
The Wargrave homeowners visited our Bracknell double glazing showroom to view, feel and experience our extensive range of uPVC, composite, aluminium and wooden front doors.
After discussions with Marcus, our client chose the Pirnar Premium 90 entrance door with a top panel for a grand entrance to their home.
The high-security features and superb thermal performance of the Pirnar aluminium front doors were the significant factors that influenced the homeowner’s decision.
Marcus talked through Pinar front door design options with the customers, ensuring we reached their expectations perfectly.
For an ultra-modern feel and a unique look, Marcus, designed the front door in anthracite grey on both the exterior and interior. Finished to the highest standard with a fine structure textured paint a high-performance paint finish which is more durable than standard flat RAL paint finishes.
Bringing it all together is the stainless steel door furniture, including 1500mm square bar handle for the outside and Inox lever handle for the inside with a stylish matching base trim.
The premium Pirnar entrance door is hinged to the left and opens in, ensuring maximum functionality of this large door for a prestigious entrance. Manufactured from the highest quality aluminium, engineered for precision and includes premium features all which add to the minimal design.
At 1.2m wide x 3.4 m high, this large front door was the perfect choice to make a bold and dramatic statement. High-security locking system and high thermal values all contribute to one of the most exquisite front entrances. Triple glazed with laminated low ‘e’ glass, with a Satinato finish the overall u-value of the door is 0.67w/m²kl. Thermally insulated aluminium flush track. The top light glass panel above the door provides complete privacy, yet floods the hallway with natural light.
The clients also chose a reliable 3-point locking system with two hooks and slot opening, with turning inox knob inside all contribute to one of the most exquisite front entrances.
The original door was which were replaced with our bespoke, wider Pirnar entrance door making the opening better for bringing furniture in and creating a grander entrance!
