These minimal framed sliding doors provide the homeowners with spectacular views over the river Thames from their family home in an idyllic riverside location.

The Weybridge detached property enjoys a prime riverfront position in the beautiful Surrey countryside.

The owners had lived in the property for several years and were keen to renovate and modernise their riverside property to maximise its potential and create a luxurious family home.

They felt they had the best spot on the waterside setting but had to improve the energy efficiency and fabulous views to embrace the perfect location. They contacted Thames Valley Windows to help enhance their property with an architectural glazing solution.

After visiting the riverside property, our MD Ryan recommended Vision20 aluminium sliding doors for their home renovation project.

With the advanced technology of the Vision20, they are a slim, thermally broken framed sliding door system with large panels of glass and minimal 20mm sight lines with outstanding thermal performance, water tightness and security features.

The Weybridge homeowners had a fixed budget for the entire project, so they were keen to find a cost effect glazing solution to replace the four sets of uPVC French doors in the living room, bedroom, and dining room.

Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors were key to the overall design to achieve a minimalistic aesthetic. They decided on Vision20, finished in the popular (RAL 7016) anthracite grey for a modern and sleek appearance.

As the property is located on the banks of the river Thames, a protective marine-grade powder coating was recommended to prevent any corrosion or damage to the aluminium framing.

Vision20 innovative door panels offer maximum sizes of up to 3m in height and 2.5m in width and achieve a U-Value of 1.5 W/m2K. Furthermore, these ultra-slim sliding doors are designed with a water tightness of Class 7A and wind resistance of Class C5.

The argon-filled toughened double-glazed glass unit is bonded to the aluminium, ensuring durability, exceptional security and thermal insulation while offering near-frameless aesthetics.

Highly engineered and designed with quiet and effortless sliding technology, the doors are easy to operate and especially suited for wide apertures.

Before the installation of thermally efficient minimal framed sliding doors, the installation team removed the existing patio doors, flag windows and brickwork.

The minimal framed sliding doors have truly enhanced the aesthetics of this river property and improved energy efficiency.

Multiple minimal frames of the sliding glass doors along the rear façade provide the ultimate epitome of sophistication and maximise light and views in the living spaces.

Whether open or closed, these minimal framed large glazed areas allow the homeowners to enjoy the impressive uninterrupted picturesque views of the River Thames.

When open, they extend the living space onto the raised decking creating the ultimate modern living space where the Weybridge homeowners can enjoy alfresco dining on warm summer days.

When our photographer returned to take the photos, the homeowners were still waiting for the replacement decking to be laid. The Vision20 doors have been designed with a flush track to provide a seamless transition between the inside and outside all year round.
