Natural Oak front door designed and installed with contemporary black handle and two glazed sidelights to a detached property in Reading.
This wonderful detached property is located on a sought-after residential road in the picturesque village of Tilehurst.
The Reading homeowners were undertaking a renovation of their family home, and within their design, they envisaged a grand entrance to be a prominent feature within the project.
They were looking for a modern and secure entrance door with high performing safety features and a minimalistic look that would add kerb appeal and create a wow factor for visitors.
After contacting other double glazing companies, they were under the impression that the size of the door required would be an issue, so they may have to compromise their dreams of an oversized entrance.
The Reading homeowners approached Thames Valley Windows and requested a free no-obligation quote for a bespoke entrance door.
Our designer Luke contacted the Reading homeowners and listened to their requirements to understand their style fully. He was able to alleviate their concerns about the size of the door and talked through the options available.
The homeowners were passionate about purchasing a large hardwood door with glazed sidelights, and part of their brief was they wanted to allow maximum natural light to flow through the hallway.
Luke recommended that they visit our Bracknell showroom to view the range of external wooden doors we have on display.
At the appointment, Luke discussed his recommended entrance door designs with the Reading homeowners, ensuring he met their requirements and expectations perfectly.
He also discussed the natural advantages and benefits of softwood and hardwood exterior doors, from aesthetics, security and energy efficiency to modern-day technology and innovation.
Given how keen the homeowners were for an oversized hardwood door, Luke discussed the possibility of the Pirnar collection. These exquisite doors are the most luxurious range of award-winning entrance doors in Europe. They are manufactured solely in Germany with sizes up to 3000 mm in height and 2800 mm in width for maximum impact.
After viewing our range of wooden exterior doors, our clients were impressed with the high-security features and incredible thermal performance of the Oak Pirnar premium 1850 entrance door.
The homeowners loved the flush minimalistic look and were keen for the door to feature a contemporary black frame and door furniture to complement the architecture and craftsmanship of the door.
They chose some very high-end door furniture from the latest Pirnar innovation of the Nero Edition, a stunning collection of elegant black front door accessories.
To add the finishing touch to their contemporary oak front door, they settled on a striking long black angular bar for the exterior and a black Inox lever handle for the interior.
Luke worked closely with the manufacturers to meet the vision the homeowners required and provide a visual of the Oak front door with RAL7021 frame and sidelights, plus a quotation for supply and installation.
The Reading homeowners were happy with the overall design and quote. They approved and signed the contract to proceed with an oversize entrance bespoke to the property requirements soon after the surveyor contacted the homeowners to confirm a date to take final measurements of the opening.
Once the door design and measurement had been finalised, the order was processed and placed with the manufacturer.
An oak front door was installed into the Reading property for security reasons within one day.
The fully finished result is quite the statement. The premium Oak entrance door 1850 with a Navarra oil finish is a striking design with aesthetically pleasing geometric horizontal grooves that beautifully accentuate the entrance to the Reading property.
The natural Oak colour offsets the natural tones of the external porch cladding and adds a touch of warmth and sophistication to the interior décor and hallway setting.
The family home also features flush grey aluminium windows which have been reflected in the oak entrance door with an aluminium frame and two glazed side panels, which imitate the flush look and encourage natural light into the property.
The Reading homeowners are delighted with their bespoke grand minimalistic entrance, the Pirnar Oak front door that has transformed their family home. It is quieter, warmer and more secure!
