Rural house transformed with French Grey Timber Windows, Newbury

Location: Newbury

The beauty and elegance of these French grey timber windows we recently installed in a beautiful Victorian detached property in Newbury are unsurpassable.

This stunning property is nestled in the tranquil hamlet of Winterbourne in the Berkshire Downs and is It is surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside.

Thames Valley Windows had been recommended to the Newbury homeowners by their neighbours, where we had recently installed double glazed windows and aluminium sliding doors.

Customer retention is important to us, so we were delighted that the homeowners got in contact with us for an architectural glazing solution for their family home built in the Victorian era in 1867.

Our design director Paul Mills contacted the Newbury homeowners and invited them to our Bracknell showroom to show them our exclusive range of timber casement and sash windows and doors on display in our dedicated Timber showroom.

Following the meeting to discuss their home improvement project, the homeowners chose timber flush casement windows with butt hinges, French doors, a Stable door and a spectacular large timber front door to replace the existing white uPVC windows and doors.

As the homeowners were unsure of which grey colour to choose for the exterior windows, Paul provided four 3D visualisations in various shades of light and dark grey of how the property would look after the installation.

All French grey timber windows and French doors were manufactured from engineered European redwood and finished in a dual colour French grey on the outside and pure white on the inside.

The homeowners choose black wrought iron monkey tail handles for the timber windows to complete the traditional look for the window furniture.

All of our timber flush casement windows are bespoke and produced to the highest standard with a combination of precision manufacturing and skilled hand-finished craftsmanship.

They are designed with attention to detail and with a range of innovative features, resulting in a combination of traditional aesthetics that replicate original 19th Century wooden windows with modern energy-efficient performance.

This Newbury property transformation is impressive; the heritage shade of French grey aesthetically enhances the brickwork and adds charm and character to the family home.

The Georgian astragal bar adds a distinctive period architectural feature to the double glazed windows and enhances the traditional style of the home.

All the Low ‘e’ double glazed units and white warm edge space bar provide outstanding insulation performance that is ideal for such an exposed rural setting.
