Location: Ashtead
This stunning project on a prestigious estate in Ashtead is home to an imposing, three-storey new build Georgian-style property, boasting numerous state-of-the-art features both inside and out. The impressive large contemporary single-storey part of the house consists of a gym area, a 12-metre-long swimming pool with automatic cover, a jacuzzi and a steam room.
Thames Valley Windows worked with a high-end residential developer to install a large set of SVG In-Line Sliding Doors and large fixed frames into an aluminium corner post for a completely glazed gym area. The pool doors have two central sliders with two fixed panels on either side, all on the same track for a seamless sightline. The sliding doors open a large part of the pool area to the outside on nicer days, and the track is completely flush, allowing for a level floor finish inside and out. We used a fixed transom running through the doors, set 450mm from the top, to reduce the size of the sealed units slightly and ensure that the maximum weight capacity of the doors was not exceeded. Despite their size, the sliding doors are easy to open and close.
The frames are powder coated in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey with a marine-grade finish due to the chemical environment.
