Location: Winchfield
This 16th-century barn has been converted into a light-filled home using Solarlux Cero Sliding Doors in Winchfield. It’s had various owners over the years, and in the 1980s, it was the local pub. The building is listed, which meant a few hoops had to be jumped through, but the effort has been worth it.
One of the main problems was that the property was very cold. Wall cladding was stripped off and the roof removed to allow for additional insulation. New double glazed aluminium windows, front door and sliding doors were installed which not only compliment the property beautifully, but ensure that it is weather proof, warm and secure.
The sliding doors at the back of the property are from Solarlux. The Solarlux Cero Sliding Doors in Winchfield have a slim 34mm aluminium profile. The frames are concealed in to the floor, walls and ceiling. The 3 panes span 6,400mm and weigh in excess of 160kg. Despite their size, these doors glide effortlessly along the triple track.
