Location: Kingston
This recent project in the market town of Kingston was an addition to a relatively recently built barn style property.
The customers required an outside room with some solar gain to add space and extend their enjoyment of their garden in spring and autumn without losing too much space within the garden itself.
The single glazed structure with Solarlux SL-20 sliding door systems to the side and SL -25 sliding stack systems to front will naturally gain solar heat during cooler months to provide a comfortable multi-purpose garden room in milder seasons. During these months and chillier summer evenings some heat can be added to this stylish atrium with infrared heaters or the like.
In summer the motorised awning to the underside of the roof will provide shade and the open doors cool the structure. The combined features of awning and simple open and close sliding doors which stack sideways to leave just the glass canopy above give flexibility whatever the British weather. The sliding doors also offer a windbreak if required.
A flush track provides a level floor to both atrium and outside, giving an easy move from room to patio area.
Our client was thrilled with the installation of their Solarlux Atrium, the aesthetic outcome and the ease of functionality including the sliding doors and ability to move from room to garden.
