Location: Harpenden
The owners of this beautiful period property with traditional windows in Harpenden wanted to open up the rear of their house to create easy access to the patio area and large garden and fill their kitchen and garden room with light.
They chose the SL 60e Bifolding Door from Solarlux in metallic grey (DB703) on both the inside and outside which is in contrast to the existing windows, making a feature of the new doors.
The bi-fold doors are a combination of 2 and 3 panel doors which meet at the corner. The corner post itself is fully moveable and the doors glide back away from the corner post for a completely open plan effect.
We also installed an additional set of 4-panel bi-folds to the living area as well as a set of double opening Solarlux French Doors in the same metallic grey finish to complete the look.
The bi-folding doors glide along a rebated threshold for a fully weather solution. This allows for a flush internal finish and the patio to be raised up to the base of the doors with just a 30mm difference in height between the two.
