Location: Finchampstead, Wokingham
This pretty cottage in Finchampstead, Wokingham dates back to the early 1900s. With its North facing back garden and small French Doors, our client was keen to increase the amount of light in to their living room as well as improve the thermal performance of their home.
Our client was tempted by a lower cost alternative to Solarlux but once they had visited our showroom and seen the Solarlux Bi-Fold Doors in operation they were convinced by the superior quality and chose doors in RAL 9016 Traffic White inside and out with a matt finish. We were also able to offer triple glazing which was a huge benefit due to an improved lower u-value performance.
Our client did not want to raise the existing patio levels so only one brick course was removed to allow us to level the threshold on the inside, with a very small step down to the outside. This has the added advantage of being a fully weathered threshold. A neat aluminium trim was used as a finishing detail to protect the brickwork because a full sub-sill would have raised the level back up above the internal floor.
You can see from the before and after photos in our gallery above the amount of light that now floods in to the living area.
