Location: Upper Woolhampton, Reading
A vast Solarlux horizontal sliding wall has completed this beautiful oak framed outbuilding in Upper Woolhampton. Set within the landscaped gardens of an impressive family home, the specially designed building has been created to provide a luxurious pool area.
The visual impact and functionality of the sliding wall was essential to the client and they finally opted for the Solarlux SL60-HSW – a heat insulated horizontally sliding wall comprising of glazed aluminium sections. With its innovative and versatile opening mechanism which provides a number of stacking and parking options, the Solarlux SL60-HSW is ideal for large or awkward opening areas that cannot accommodate typical bi-folding doors.
The client opted for dramatic grey aluminium to contrast with the natural appeal of the floor tiles and the exposed brick wall. Their specification included a recessed ceiling mounted track which allows the doors to glide smoothly into a parallel stacking area. This allowed them to choose 1000mm wide panels which wouldn’t overhang the pool or obstruct the staircase.
For a completely uninterrupted floor, the client chose a system with no floor track. This novel option utilises carefully designed locator sockets which allow the individual panels to be secured with a shootbolt lock.
