Solarlux Wintergarden and SL 80 Bi-Folding Doors, Eltham, Greenwich, South East London

Location: Eltham in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, South East London

Our client was looking to extend their Victorian Town House in Eltham in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, South East London with a contemporary glazed room to maximize their living space and to allow them to enjoy the garden all year round. We installed a Solarlux Wintergarden with SL 80 Bi-Folding Doors.

Originally they were set on a normal lean-to design but having identified a Solarlux Wintergarden as a preferred option, the client visited our head office where they saw our showroom example which demonstrates a dual pitch roof with a lean-to element, and a reverse pitch lean-to all-in-one. This was perfect to avoid the low window on the stairs and enable them to keep a decent height roof pitch which had been their concern all along.

The bespoke design and engineering quality of the Solarlux Wintergarden made it the best option for the contemporary glass extension although it was not the cheapest.

The ability to integrate a bespoke bracketed awning system on to the Solarlux Wintergarden Roof was also a major plus. Combined with a Pilkington Active protective glazing to ensures all year round comfort. The Solarlux SL 80 Bi-Folding Doors (with square profile option chosen) can be opened up to both the front and left side elevation for maximum ventilation as well!

A raised patio area and newly laid timber floor with inset spot lights finish the room beautifully!
