Location: Horsell, Woking, Surrey
The detached early-century chalet bungalow in the much-sought-after village of Horsell, in Woking, has been rejuvenated with triple-glazed Tudor Black and White Georgian composite windows from the Internorm KF310 uPVC-aluminium window system in the Home Soft design style.
The charming and characterful period detached house is nestled in the heart of a picturesque Horsell village on a sought-after tree-lined road, within walking distance of Woking town centre.
The Horsell homeowners purchased the detached property in 2021. They planned to renovate the whole house and add a contemporary single-storey rear extension, transforming it into a modern, comfortable living space.
Before commencing their home renovation project, the homeowners from Horsell sought inspiration at the Homebuilding and Renovation Show in January 2022. Here, they discovered the Internorm stand, where they could explore a wide range of high-quality windows and doors..
Thames Valley Windows takes great pride in being an Internorm distribution partner, bringing you exceptional quality and elegance in window solutions. We ensure impeccable product quality and outstanding service before, during, and after installation.
We regularly attend exhibitions with Internorm to showcase their high-quality glazing products to homeowners, architects, and developers.
At the Farnborough show, the homeowners met our designer, Joe Ciccarello, at the Internorm stand. They discussed their renovation project and mentioned they were looking for uPVC casement windows and doors to improve the property’s energy efficiency. Joe recommended they visit our Bracknell Showroom to see the range of windows and doors on display.
During their appointment at our Bracknell showroom, Joe reviewed the architectural plans and listened carefully to the homeowners’ brief.
As part of their home renovation project, the homeowners were eager to replace their wooden windows with a more modern glazing solution that would be low-maintenance, provide high-performance thermal and acoustic efficiency, and provide excellent airtightness. They were also looking for a solution that would complement the traditional aesthetics of their chalet bungalow while fitting well with the contemporary rear extension.
The original single-glazed timber windows, which showcased the character of this chalet bungalow, had endured the test of time. Over the years, they had warped, making them difficult to open and no longer thermal efficient.
Joe worked with the Horsell homeowners to design and supply a large bespoke architectural glazing solution throughout this early-century chalet bungalow. He recommended triple-glazed Internorm KF 310 uPVC-aluminium windows and KS430 lift-and-slide doors that would meet the desired requirements and achieve the overall U value specified by their architect.
As the Horsell homeowners wanted a Tudor-look Georgian window, Joe designed the composite Georgian windows with two colours: externally, RAL 9005 matt black frames, RAL9016 Traffic white sash, and white astragal bars to create the six-pane Georgian style they required. Internally, they chose a white finish with a G80 chrome handle.
All the triple-glazed black and white composite Georgian bar windows feature an inward-opening tilt-and-turn system. They can be opened by tilting inwards or swinging inwards to open completely.
Triple-glazed 48 mm clear glass units with ECLAZ® coating and black ISO spacer bar offer high insulation and light transmission with a U Value 0.5W/m²K.
For the large, full, single-storey extension, they chose triple-glazed KS430 uPVC-aluminium lift and slide doors, which can achieve U-values of 0.73 for exceptional thermal performance all year round. They also selected large windows and French doors with clear panes of glass.
The KF 310 Home Soft Rounded Design is part of the uPVC-aluminium windows from Internorm. They have an excellent reputation for high-quality composite windows with three continuous ensure that they offer excellent thermal insulation as low as 0.69W/(m2K) as well as Noise reduction of up to 45 dB
Designed with a construction depth of 74mm, a six-chambered frame, all-round bonding of the glass pane with the window sash, and a concealed locking system, the KF 310 composite window offers a sleek, versatile aesthetics.
Internorm windows and doors are fully accredited by Secured by Design and Pas 24, ensuring peace of mind.
The aluminium-clad exterior can endure harsh weather while providing exceptional durability, longevity, and low maintenance.
This beautiful Horsell home renovation has been finished to a high standard. The uPVC aluminium-clad windows allow maximum natural light to flow inside the living space. The black and white traditional Georgian windows enhance the bungalow’s appearance.
The homeowners in Horsell are delighted with the Internorm products, the installation, the high standards, and the service Thames Valley Windows provides.
Performance and quality attracted us. Given its excellent performance and high quality, we felt the cost for the product was very reasonable.
We are exceptionally pleased with the look. It has the right blend of heritage and contemporary for our property, and its performance has met our expectations.
I purchased the Internorm product because Joe C is a very pleasant and easy-to-deal-with chap. It is nice to deal with someone who is very human.
Subsequently, everyone we have had contact with (especially Dan M) has been responsive and professional.
