Ultra Slim Steel-look Sliding Doors for White Rendered Extension, Effingham in Surrey

Location: Effingham

A set of three-pane, bespoke, slimline steel-look sliding doors is the striking focal point of a white-rendered extension in a detached property in Leatherhead near Guildford in Surrey.

The family home is in a semi-rural location near Effingham Common, surrounded by beautiful countryside.

The Effingham homeowners had lived in the detached property since 2015 and were keen to add more living space by installing a luxurious open-plan extension to the rear of their property.

Their architect’s plans for the white-rendered extension included a large roof lantern, Georgian windows, and floor-to-ceiling slimline sliding doors to connect the living space to the garden.

When the Effingham homeowners contacted Thames Valley Windows for an architectural glazing solution, their builders had already started the build.

Our architectural project designer, Liam, contacted the homeowners to discuss their architectural plans and vision for their new extension.

Liam’s exceptional knowledge and creative vision enable him to design a bespoke glazing solution and collaborate effectively with the architect and builder of this luxurious white-rendered extension. It features premium architectural glazing that provides energy efficiency and abundant light throughout the property, enabling Effingham homeowners to live in a home full of light and style.

He recommended high-quality Halo flush windows, Vision20 slimline sliding doors, and an Atlas System structural aluminium lantern roof system.

The Effingham chose RAL7016 anthracite grey powder-coated finish for the steel-look sliding doors and roof lantern, achieving the desired industrial aesthetic.

Our Vision20 sliding patio doors offer minimal 20mm sight lines that are unparalleled in simplicity and functionality. Whether closed or open, they provide a dynamic, modern, and aesthetically stylish look.

The sleek aluminium frames and large glass panels create an eye-catching architectural feature that seamlessly brings the outdoors inside, enhancing transparency, natural light, and a sense of openness and connection to nature.

Vision20 sliding doors are not just about minimalism but also about sustainability. The thermally broken aluminium slim frames and the glass panels are double-glazed, toughened, and gas-filled with argon. They feature a warm edge spacer bar and a Low-E coating, providing exceptional thermal performance, water tightness and security features that exceed building regulation standards,

These features benefit the environment by lowering carbon footprint and reducing energy consumption.

The Vision20 ultra-slim sliding doors feature floor-to-ceiling glazing, a nearly frameless profile, and an Integrated Multi-point locking system.

One distinctive feature is that the outer frame can be recessed into the wall cavity, creating a minimalist and contemporary look.

Thanks to glass technology and manufacturing advancements, these highly engineered door panels can achieve maximum dimensions of up to 2.5 meters in width and 3 meters in height. They are easy to operate and designed with quiet, effortless sliding technology, and they are especially suited for wide apertures.

These ultra-slim sliding doors feature a watertightness rating of Class 7A and wind resistance rated at Class C5.

Steel-look sliding and heritage-style doors are on trend with homeowners, architects, and developers because of their industrial or art deco aesthetic appeal. The cutting-edge Vision 20 Sliding door system is a cost-effective alternative to steel-framed sliding doors.

The end result is breathtaking. This exceptional white-rendered extension has completely transformed the rear of this detached property while complementing the architectural features.

The minimal contemporary open-plan layout of the kitchen and dining area, with plenty of space for family living and entertaining, has been finished to the highest specification and designed with exceptional attention to detail.

The steel-look sliding doors draw the eye as you walk into the living space; they offer stunning rural views across Surrey’s countryside.

The ultra-slim steel-look sliding doors are designed for all panels to move. Two panels can slide to the side or middle, creating an instant opening that connects the inside and outside space.

The house interior is luxuriously decorated to a very high standard. The dark grey aluminium profiles of the Steel-look sliding door system are aesthetically pleasing add depth to the neutral colour palette, and enhance the beautiful natural light.

The large roof lantern makes a show-stopping first impression and creates a grandeur feeling in the living space.
