Location: Frensham
We recently installed white Georgian windows into this charming detached property in Frensham.
The family home is in a tranquil location in the heart of Frensham, offering stunning panoramic views of Frensham Common and Hindhead.
At Thames Valley Windows, we take pride in developing long-term relationships with our clients; our homeowners in Frensham are no exception. Having first collaborated with them in 2012 and replaced windows and doors for three previous properties, we were honoured to be approached again, this time for replacement windows for their newly acquired detached property. The fact that they chose to work with us again is a testament to their satisfaction with our services and trust in our expertise.
The Frensham homeowners wanted to replace their old single-glazed timber-framed Georgian windows with modern alternatives with a traditional appearance matching the property’s architecture and character. They specifically requested energy-efficient double-glazed windows that were low-maintenance and long-lasting.
Our designer, Sean, contacted his clients to discuss the range of timber alternatives and uPVC windows we offer and arrange an appointment to view the windows on display at our Bracknell showroom.
With his wealth of glazing knowledge and experience gained over the years at Thames Valley Windows, our designer, Sean, brings a unique perspective to our company. His attention to detail and creativity help him design architectural glazing solutions that create beautiful living spaces. After listening to his client’s requirements, he used his long-established design vision and expertise to recommend Evolution 70 casement windows with an astragal Georgian grill, a testament to the quality of our products and services.
During the manufacturing process, the manufacturer Evolution went into administration, and all orders were put on hold, as no one within the glazing industry knew if another manufacturer would buy Evolution. Sean contacted the Frensham homeowners to advise of the situation. He recommended that they chose Halo flush casement windows with a woodgrain finish and timber look joint as these would stay true to the appearance of timber windows but are maintenance-free.
Sean worked closely with the homeowners to design 13 white Georgian windows in various sizes and ensured the proportions and symmetry were correct throughout the property.
The Frensham property now benefits from more natural light thanks to the modern design of the slim white uPVC flush window frames and clever use of advanced glazing technology. The light naturally warms the house, helping to improve thermal efficiency and lower energy bills.
All the double-glazed units are filled with argon gas, and thermally efficient spacer bars achieve a u-value of 1.4. To give the appearance of single panes of glass.18mm Georgian bars have been applied to the outside of the glazing.
Halo’s uPVC profile is multi-chambered, enabling excellent thermal performance. All Halo window styles are designed with carbon footprint reduction and sustainability. They have achieved accreditation from the British Standards Institute for BS7950 and PAS 23/24 for weather performance and ‘Secured by Design’, ensuring high-quality glazing products.
The new flush casement windows have given this Frensham property a modern makeover. Their innovative design and detail of a timber window frame mean these authentic features do not impede the property’s aesthetics. As a finishing touch, the homeowners chose black wrought iron handles to add elegance and grandeur to the interior décor.
White Georgian windows, a timeless architectural feature, add historical charm and elegance to any property. With their distinctive six-pane design, these windows are a hallmark of Georgian architecture. They are often finished in white, enhancing their classic appeal. Their symmetrical design and elegant proportions, reminiscent of a bygone era, fit seamlessly into modern settings, making them a unique addition to your property.
The Frensham homeowners can now enjoy their lovely homes. and have advised of the following:
We have used TVW for three properties, having first been recommended by a friend with whom I used to work as a school leaver! The quality is self-evident; the price is competitive, given the product’s excellent service and premium feel.
The Halo product has transformed the outside of the property, while the inside is warmer. Significantly, the sound insulation is superb.
Previous experience and understanding of the TVW process and the company’s reputation mean that there are protections should things go awry on a big and expensive project.
This was borne out by the chosen window supplier going into administration. The TVW team found a swift resolution, leaving us with a superior product at the same cost and very little delay to the installation date.
The team handled difficult conversations about lintels and irons required only after the initial quote well, with an agreement reached to both sides’ satisfaction. Similarly, surveying errors (understandable on a complicated replacement) were resolved internally to minimise our inconvenience and without cost to the client.
Knowing that the company is long established and able to weather manufacturers going into administration is exactly the protection one wants and that assurances and guarantees will be honoured many years into the future. We feel we have built such a relationship with the team that we can call on them with any concerns or ideas, and they will be looked after.
The new white Georgian windows retain the property’s heritage but with 21st-century high performance.
