Since they were first introduced, uPVC windows have evolved considerably. Compared to the way they were in the 1980s, they now offer far more benefits and features. Most noteworthy in recent years is the development of the traditional timber-look joint, which is good enough to fool a professional. Our uPVC windows in Surrey, Hampshire & Berkshire have an especially low profile that measures just 70mm from front to back. Sealed window units measure 28mm with a 20mm air gap. A spacer bar filled with argon gas provides additional thermal efficiency, bringing the U-value of the uPVC windows to 1.4. The profile wall is 18% thicker than many alternatives, making our products much sturdier and more durable than those offered by our competitors. Because we use low-level gaskets, we can achieve wider glass areas without obvious and unattractive gasket lines.
Like most of the other timber-effect windows we offer at Thames Valley Windows, our Heritage uPVC windows come in a range of exterior colour finishes, as listed below. Cherrywood, Rosewood and Smooth White finishes have a smooth white interior, while Ivory, Black Woodgrain, Smooth Anthracite Grey, Irish Oak, French Grey, Ice Cream, Agate Grey and White Grain all have a white woodgrain interior.
You also have the option of choosing Cherrywood and Rosewood windows where the interior colour matches the exterior, while System 10 and Rustique are available in Rosewood, Cherrywood and Smooth White.
Don’t worry if your preferred RAL colour is not listed anywhere on this page, as we can still provide our windows and doors in your chosen finish.
Our uPVC windows are independently tested to provide enhanced security for your home. They meet PAS 24 security requirements, which assess how effectively windows resist methods of entry commonly used by opportunistic burglars.
Selected uPVC windows are also accredited by Secured by Design, the official police security initiative. This means they have been manufactured and tested to recognised crime-prevention standards, helping to reduce the risk of unauthorised entry into your home.
• The proportions of the window sills are particularly important and can significantly affect the finished appearance of your project. For period properties, consider hardwood sills rather than uPVC alternatives, as they can help retain the original architectural detailing and character.
• If you are replacing natural wood windows, Georgian bars can be installed to simulate the original look and feel
• Look for windows with a high energy-efficiency rating. We recommend choosing A-rated uPVC windows where appropriate.
• Choose uPVC windows made from durable materials that are designed to last for 30 years or more.
• Make sure the design and dimensions of your uPVC windows complement the style and age of your building
• For a traditional timber appearance, consider whether the shape and profile of the uPVC window accurately reflect the original window design.
