Location: Oxshott
We recently installed contemporary agate grey fascia & soffits to this stunning white-rendered detached property in Oxshott.
This detached property has been completely renovated into a beautiful new family home. That sits within stunning landscaped gardens on one of Weybridge’s desirable private residential roads in the prestigious Crown Estate in Oxshott.
As part of this home renovation project, we designed and installed contemporary Agate grey Heritage-style windows and doors at the property. The Oxshott homeowners were keen to coordinate their roofline with their new double-glazed windows and doors.
Over the years, the Oxshott homeowners had been burdened with maintaining their old wood fascia and soffits. Now, they enjoy the relief of not having to constantly maintain their new low-maintenance double-glazed aluminium windows.
They were eager to replace the brown wooden fascias and soffits, which required constant annual maintenance and had started to warp and lift. The guttering system had always been problematic, with numerous leaks and overflowing. Now, they can rest assured that these issues are a thing of the past.
Our designer, Ray, had worked closely with the Oxshott homeowners on their home renovation project. He designed contemporary glazing solutions and was delighted to help them with replacement fascia, soffits, and guttering.
We were asked to quote on replacing all the fascia, soffits and rainwater goods system; Ray recommended the uPVC square vented fascia, unvented soffit finished in Kolorbond RAL 7038 agate grey and black square guttering and rainwater downpipes. This trendy combination gives an attractive, symmetrical finish to the roofline that is pleasing to the eye.
A hedgehog gutter brush was recommended for the square guttering in the garage dormers. This innovative product helps prevent leaves from clogging gutters and drains, reducing the risk of water overflow and the need for regular gutter cleaning.
Once the contract had been signed, a detailed site survey of the detached property was conducted. This involved assessing the external roof perimeters, checking dimensions, and evaluating potential hazards. This thorough survey ensured that the installation process would be smooth and safe.
As the detached property was built before 2000, a ‘Scratch Test’ was carried out to check that asbestos was not present in the soffits; thankfully, it was not.
Scaffolding was required for the front garage dormers and the area above the conservatory. While we can arrange this service, this is separate from the Thames Valley Windows contract, and an additional cost is paid directly to the scaffolders.
All the fascias and soffits varied in size, so we arranged for the roofline system to be delivered directly to the Oxshott property as it would need to be cut on-site, proving to be a truly bespoke installation.
Our uPVC roofline products are from Swish, a well-known UK manufacturer of roofline and cladding products. BBA and BSI approve all their roofline products.
We offer three Swish uPVC fascia styles, Square, classic Ogee, and Bullnose, in four standard colours: white, rosewood-grained, black-grained, light oak-grained, and bespoke Kolorbond.
Kolorbond paint is available in all standard RAL and BS colours. It is a special coating designed to paint uPVC.
uPVC fascia and soffits from Swish have a non-lead formulation that complies with UK, EEC, and PVC industry guidance and is the perfect replacement for timber roofline product. They are virtually maintenance-free, weather resistant, and won’t discolour, so they will stay looking good and improve the appearance of any façade for many years to come.
The fascia board is the long straight board fixed to the rafter feet and running horizontally along the eaves at the roof’s lower edge.
The soffit is a board that closes the eaves by fitting between the wall and the back edge of the fascia board.
