Location: Earley
This modern home is a large detached property in Earley and it’s owners were looking to replace the windows and the front door with efficient and low maintenance solutions, so of course they sought out the team at Thames Valley Windows.
Originally built in the 1990s, the house was originally fitted with uPVC windows however they were reaching the end of their life. The wear and tear was becoming more apparent on the locking systems, hinges, and even the sealing units. In addition to replacing the windows, the owners want to replace the front door with one that had much better heat insulation and impressive security. This would mean that they were not only protecting their home but also their wallet.
After a consultation with our in-house designers we recommended that the existing uPVC windows be replaces with improved double glazing, chosen from the Rustique catalogue. They feature ovolo edges, Georgian bars placed internally, and windows with the best possible sound insulation, security hinges and secure locking systems.
A striking cherry-red colour was chosen for the front door, which resulted in a stunning look alongside a thermally efficient door that features triple glazing and double rebate in the sash that works overtime to prevent drafts while improving energy efficiency. The steel locking system and bolts are the ultimate choice for security, a system that uses anti-drill, anti-snap, and even anti-pick cylinders.
To complete the overhaul we replaced the soffits and fascias, added classic black guttering and downpipes which combine to give the home a fresh and exciting outlook and kerbside appeal.
