Location: West End
When a new family took over a nearly 300-year-old home in West End they wanted to make sure they were preserving its original aesthetics and style. Not wanting to sacrifice any of its original authenticity, they instead hoped to modernise what was already there.
To make sure that the home could be maintained, damp and woodworm was tended to, and then modern electrics, new heating and updated plumbing was put in.
Halo double glazed uPVC windows in West End were installed in Agate Grey (RAL 7038), and white grain was the colour chosen by our customer for the interior. The colours and type of window chosen reflected the history and style of the home in its natural state. Our client did not want to deal with the hassle of providing upkeep for actual wooden windows. Therefore, they chose what most closely resembled the look and feel of wood.
Wanting to add a modern touch, Solarlux bi-fold doors finished in Grey Aluminium (RAL 9007) were installed in the kitchen area which extends towards the garden to compliment the uPVC double glazing in West End. The front door was also replaced with an Apeer composite door in Agate Grey.
This was a wonderful project, so much so that the client is looking to have a new patio installed with bi-fold doors. The idea is that when the doors open, there is no separation between feeling indoors and outdoors.
